Bel Holiday is a NY Metro-based singer and songwriter who seamlessly blends a wide range of influences, from Hiatus Kaiyote to Ed Sheeran to Broadway show tunes. Although only twenty years of age, she has been singing and performing for well over a decade. In her own words, she is “ever evolving and always able to draw inspiration from other artists.” She is the recipient of the “Rising Star” award at the Jazz Forum Arts Vocal Jazz Festival, was the Grand Prixe winner at the West Park International Music Festival in 2019 and opened the Real Catwalk NYC- one of the world’s most notable body image rallies-with an original song on the topic of self-acceptance. Her debut EP, Watermelon, was released in August of 2020 and has amassed over 72 thousand streams as of December 2020- largely thanks to her bluesy lead single, Devil on Your Shoulder. In October, she was invited to perform for Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie on American Idol Season 4, after which she completed her second EP, Mess of a Mind, with Californian self-taught producer Thalo- almost entirely by bouncing files back and forth between one another, in true "COVID-friendly-fashion," so to speak.
Although she is relatively new to performing outside of the theatre, Bel has graced the stage at many prestigious venues in the NYC area such as Drom and Rockwood Music Hall. In her spare time during the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bel can be found studying for her Health Coach certification, streaming plays and stand-up comedy specials, seeking out hikes, and obsessing over Jacob Collier. Despite her accolades to date, Bel is serious about not taking herself too seriously.
